Arni Johannson - Chairman
Arni Johannson has 20 years of experience in the Canadian capital markets. His focus has been to build assets and senior management teams in companies he is invested in while executing a defined business plan. Mr. Johannson was the founder and architect behind Titan Uranium (TSX.v:TUE - www.titanuranium.com) and cofounded The Fortress Group (Fortress Paper – TSX:FTP - www.fortresspaper.com). He also serves as a director for a number of public companies including Mega Uranium ( TSX:MGA - www.megauranium.com ).
Mark Hewett - Director
Mark Hewett attained his Bachelor of Applied Science (Civil Engineering) at UBC, working in the energy sector and municipal consulting within BC. He maintains his Professional Engineer status with APEGBC. An entrepreneur at heart, Mr. Hewett moved into the investment arena over 10 years ago and built a top tier clientele with assets under management exceeding $160 million. He has numerous securities licenses and designations, including the Partners, Directors and Senior Officers (PDO) designation. In fiscal 2006 and 2007, he and his partner achieved Chairman’s Club status at Canaccord, ranking amongst the top 20 advisors in Canada. Mr. Hewett is proficient at analyzing businesses and the markets. He has a proven track record at gathering and growing assets from the ground up. He has been investing in and raising funds for the junior mining and energy sector for a number of years so a move to managing and directing was a natural progression.
John Icke - Director
John Icke is a senior executive with more than 25 years global management experience, 14 in the role of President, General Manager or Chief Executive Officer, in both the private and public sector. He was previously the president of Accenture Business Services for Utilities, the largest business process outsourcing practice of its kind worldwide. Most recently, he had been a principal of JRI Strategy Consultants Inc., a business consultancy which provides strategic counseling and leadership to senior executives of retailers, technology and consumer goods manufacturing businesses. His previous positions include: president and CEO of Lily Cups Inc; founding director and chairman of Canadian Polystyrene Recycling Association (C.P.R.A.); corporate vice president and general manager of Indigo N.V.’s worldwide packaging business; and chief operating officer and executive vice president of Sweetheart Cup, a subsidiary of Fort Howard. Importantly, Mr. Icke has significant experience with private equity in addition to debt and public equity financings. Mr. Icke serves on several public and private company boards to include Cue Resources Ltd., Mega Moly Inc., Finavera Renewables Inc. and Pacific Coast Nickel Corp.
Laurence (Laurie) Thomson – Director
Laurie Thomson has over 25 years of experience in the mining industry and in international minerals product trading. He is a graduate geologist (University of British Columbia – Honours) with a career path in minerals and metals marketing; first with a senior Japanese trading company, then with Placer Dome and then BHP Minerals (now, BHP-Billiton). Mr. Thomson brings with him an extensive senior management experience and network in a wide range of mineral and metal commodities, along with his technical knowledge and international expertise.
