Environmental Responsibility and Community Relations

Corporate Social Responsibility

Lions Gate Metals recognizes the need to establish a social license to operate. This will be achieved through the adoption of best practices and operating procedures that reflect the health, safety and environmental priorities of our management. It will also be achieved through working closely with First Nations and local communities located near to each of our projects.

First Nations Operational Principles

Lions Gate Metals will recognize and work with First Nations as a government. Our staff will seek to know the community, and will work with the First Nations representation. Our operations will be designed to assist with building First Nations' capacity, participation and benefit from mineral development.

Lions Gate Metals will strive to make every effort to develop shared objectives between our company and First Nations. Transparency is the key to building trust in this regard.

We also respect the goals of First Nations to:

  • To ensure a self reliant nation.

  • To ensure an effective, responsive, and accountable infrastructure.

  • To ensure continual and effective communications.

  • To ensure responsible jurisdiction of the resources for equitable and sustainable use.

  • To ensure effective financial management.

  • To ensure governance model based upon the solid foundation of hereditary systems.

Environment

Our Company will take progressive action to be carbon neutral whenever possible. Our operations will set an example of industry leadership in the development and implementation of technologies and strategies that address climate change and provide leading environmental practices, while increasing profitability for our shareholders and partners.

Our Company will proactively address environmental obligations during all stages of the mine and processing life cycles, including: exploration, development, operation, mineral processing, reclamation and closure. We will set precedents in the efficient use of energy, resources and materials. We will strive to minimize pollution in the air, land, and water by implementing progressive technologies during all phases of the mining cycle, including best practices in recycling and energy production. We believe that environmental incidents during our operations are unacceptable. We have adopted the Prospector's and Developer's Environmental Excellence in Exploration (E3) policies as the minimum standard for our programs.
